Rare Set 6 French Art Deco Burled Walnut Dining Chairs
Every once in a while I get lucky and the furniture Gods smile down upon me. I travel here and there buying things and sometimes find someone selling furniture that sells to me for a very reasonable price. Well, that’s what happened here, except the seller didn’t know what these beauties were and thought them rather odd. I think they are gorgeous! Just imagine them in your deco home and how they would add to the ambiance you tried so hard to create. They are beautifully book-matched in dazzling burled walnut veneer. Look at the rich sorrels of undulating wood and the gorgeous coloration and finish. These chairs would be superb and absolutely out-of-this-world if they were fitted with white or black round leather or vinyl cushions with contrasting piping to set them off! The unique chairs appear to date to the 1920s or perhaps even the middle 1900s when Deco revival items began to spring up from time to time. They are all in good condition and structurally sound and have no damages or splits, missing pieces of veneer or finish issues. I also have a few similar pairs done in different woods that can be used with these to make a larger set. After that, they will probably never be seen again! The chairs each measure 35 Tall X 25 ½ inches wide X 17 inches deep and the seat height is 16 inches.
